About us:
The Old Fort Griffin Memorial Regiment is a Not-for-Profit Texas Corporation, certified by the I.R.S. as a Section 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Charitable Organization, organized for the purpose of providing public history re-enactment, preservation, interpretation and education concerning military activities and related history in Texas and the Southwest dating from 1856 through 1881, as will qualify the corporation as an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or corresponding provision of any subsequent federal tax code.

The Regiment was organized in 1991 as a volunteer living history organization.  It's headquarters are at Fort Griffin State Historical Park, Albany, Texas.  OFGMR membership currently includes individuals and families from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming & Arkansas.

OFGMR members are volunteers and participate according to their own priorities.  The Regiment has several companies (local area groups) organized so a member can be active locally as well as have opportunities to reenact in Statewide, Regional and National events.  While there are no activity requirements to maintain a membership, the Regiment has a variety of programs designed to reward members for enthusiastic participation, including Schools of the Soldier, a Service Stripe award program as well as promotions within the ranks and others. Re-enactor Liability Insurance is available for our Membership.
